Former United States President Donald Trump made a bold statement, declaring that he would not protect Prince Harry of the United Kingdom if he wins the 2024 election in November.
Prince Harry’s real name is Henry Charles Albert David, and if Trump secures a second term, he stated that Prince Harry would be left to fend for himself, accusing him of betraying the Queen.
“He betrayed the queen. That’s unforgivable,” Trump explained to the U.K.’s Daily Express over the weekend.
In the midst of a legal battle between the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the conservative think-tank the Heritage Foundation, concerning Prince Harry’s visa, Trump claimed that the Biden administration has been protecting him.
On Friday, the Heritage Foundation appeared in court to request Prince Harry’s visa records, aiming to determine if he lied about his drug use on immigration documents.
The foundation argues that if Prince Harry had been truthful about his drug experiences described in his book Spare, it should have prevented him from entering the United States.
The group wants the Department of Homeland Security to release his documentation to investigate if he received special treatment or if he lied about his past drug use. Lawyers for the DHS argued in court that confessions made in a book may not be genuine.
“I wouldn’t protect him,” Trump said. “He would be on his own if it was down to me.”
When Prince Harry announced his departure from the Royal Family in January 2020, he was accused of blindsiding the Queen, a claim he denies. Despite possible conflicts, Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle have tried to maintain a close relationship with Queen Elizabeth II, even naming their daughter Lilibet, a childhood nickname from the Queen’s family.
During the Conservative Political Action Conference, President Trump also criticized the Biden Administration for being too gracious to Prince Harry after his actions.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle moved to California in 2020 and currently reside in Montecito with their two children. In an interview, Prince Harry mentioned that he has considered becoming an American citizen but it is not a high priority for him at the moment.

How might Trump’s statement and the legal battle impact the relationship between the United States and the United Kingdom, specifically in terms of diplomatic ties and the security of foreign dignitaries
Former President Donald Trump has made a bold statement regarding his stance on protecting Prince Harry of the United Kingdom if he were to win the 2024 election. Trump declared that he would not provide any protection for Prince Harry if he secures a second term as president.
Prince Harry, whose real name is Henry Charles Albert David, would allegedly be left to fend for himself if Trump were to be reelected. Trump accuses Prince Harry of betraying the Queen, an action that he deems unforgivable. In an interview with the UK’s Daily Express, Trump expressed his strong opinion on the matter.
This statement from Trump comes in the midst of a legal battle between the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the conservative think-tank, the Heritage Foundation. The dispute revolves around Prince Harry’s visa and whether he lied about his drug use when applying for immigration documents.
The Heritage Foundation appeared in court on Friday to request Prince Harry’s visa records in order to investigate the claims. They argue that if Prince Harry had been truthful about his drug experiences detailed in his book, “Spare,” he should have been prevented from entering the United States. They seek to determine if he received special treatment or if he lied about his past drug use. Lawyers for the DHS countered by arguing that confessions made in a book may not be genuine.
Trump’s statement of not protecting Prince Harry reflects his strong position on the matter. However, it is important to note that the decision to provide protection for foreign dignitaries is not solely in the hands of the president. It involves various diplomatic protocols and agreements between countries.
Prince Harry’s departure from the Royal Family in January 2020 was met with accusations of blindsiding the Queen, although he denies this claim. Despite possible conflicts, Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle have made efforts to maintain a close relationship with Queen Elizabeth II, even naming their daughter Lilibet, a childhood nickname used within the Queen’s family.
It remains to be seen how this legal battle and Trump’s statement will impact the relationship between the United States and the United Kingdom. Diplomatic ties are crucial among nations, especially with regard to the protection and security of foreign dignitaries. As the situation develops, it will be interesting to see how both sides approach this issue and what implications it may have for future interactions.
