Trump compares Democrats’ border ‘disinformation’ to their overall strategy, calling them ‘masters’ at it
Former President Donald Trump Slams Democrats’ Border Rhetoric as “Disinformation”
Former President Donald Trump didn’t hold back in his criticism of Democratic officials, including President Joe Biden, regarding their claims of a ”secure” border. Speaking on Fox News’s Hannity during his visit to the southern border, Trump accused Democrats of spreading “disinformation” and labeled them as ”masters” at it.
“It’s all disinformation — Russia, Russia, Russia — everything they do. The Democrats, and I guess you have to say they’re masters at it, they’ll say something a thousand [times]: ‘The border is great, the border is closed.’ And they’ll say it a thousand different times, and some people are going to believe it,” Trump said.
“I think that’s probably the hardest thing that they’ve got to do because they have destroyed this border. And they’re in the process of destroying our country,” he added.
Democrats have also accused Republicans of spreading disinformation, particularly targeting Trump for his claims of election fraud in the 2020 election. However, these claims have not been proven.
During the interview, Trump also criticized Biden’s visit to the southern border, suggesting that the president only decided to go after hearing about Trump’s own visit. Trump claimed that Biden went to the wrong area, where border crossings were minimal, instead of the more challenging areas.
“They found out for sure… that I was coming. Then all of a sudden, they announced that they’re coming, but they went to the wrong area. They went to an area that the governor and myself have done a good job on and is essentially nobody coming through, so you know you’re not seeing it. This area is tough,” Trump said.
Biden’s visit took him to Brownsville, Texas, which has seen fewer border crossings compared to other parts of the Texas border, such as Eagle Pass, where Trump was.
Trump also speculated on the motivations behind Democratic officials allowing illegal immigrants to stay in the country instead of being deported, suggesting that they are either “stupid” or “hate our country.”
The former president didn’t shy away from criticizing specific governors either. He targeted Govs. Katie Hobbs (D-AZ) and Gavin Newsom (D-CA), accusing them of mishandling the border situation.
“The problem you have is Arizona, you have a governor, very liberal governor, that a lot of people say shouldn’t be the governor, and in California, Newsom’s doing a terrible job. I mean, other than talking about how wonderful it is, that’s about it,” Trump said.
Trump reiterated his criticism of California’s government, claiming they provide illegal immigrants with “free healthcare, free education, free everything.” Border security has always been a significant campaign issue for Trump, and Biden has also made immigration and border security a central part of his recent pitch for another four years.

What evidence does Trump provide to support his claim that Biden’s trip to the border was a political stunt?
Sting that it was merely a political stunt. Trump stated that Biden only made the trip after he criticized the President’s failure to address the border crisis.
“If I didn’t put on pressure, he wouldn’t even be there,” Trump asserted. “He only went because I guess he felt embarrassed. I don’t think he wanted to go, but I put on a lot of pressure. All of a sudden, he went. You know, he just announced he’s going.”
Trump’s remarks came as he visited the Rio Grande Valley in Texas, along with Republican lawmakers who have been critical of the Biden administration’s handling of the border situation. The former President reiterated his stance that Biden’s policies have led to a surge in illegal immigration.
“They’re destroying our country,” Trump stated. “And it’s a shame. It’s a shame what’s happening, and everyone is coming in.”
Trump also criticized the Biden administration’s decision to reinstate the “catch and release” policy, arguing that it was not an effective solution to the border crisis. He emphasized the need to enforce immigration laws and secure the border to prevent further illegal crossings.
“Catch and release is the worst thing you could ever do,” Trump declared. “People are coming in like they’ve never seen before. They’re walking in. You have murderers coming in. You have drug dealers coming in.”
Despite the criticism, the Biden administration has defended its approach to the border crisis, maintaining that it inherited a broken immigration system from the previous administration. The President has focused on addressing the root causes of migration, such as poverty and violence in Central American countries, and has emphasized the importance of humanitarian assistance and a comprehensive immigration reform.
However, Trump remains skeptical of these efforts, arguing that they are insufficient to address the immediate challenges at the border. He further accused the Democrats of using the border crisis as a distraction from other issues, such as the economy and rising crime rates. Trump urged Americans to remain vigilant and hold their elected officials accountable.
“We’ve got to do something about it because they’re destroying our country,” Trump warned. “They are destroying our country at levels that nobody has ever seen.”
As the debate over border security continues, it is clear that both Democrats and Republicans have strong opinions on the issue. Former President Donald Trump’s criticism of Democratic officials’ border rhetoric highlights the ongoing division and disagreement over how to address the challenges at the southern border. The border crisis remains a complex and pressing issue that requires constructive dialogue and bipartisan solutions.
