Steve Garvey moves forward to November elections

Steve Garvey and Adam Schiff, contenders for the vacant Senate seat, have advanced to the November election to compete for the position of California’s newest Senator.
On Tuesday, voters propelled Garvey and Schiff (D-Calif.) to the General Election. The race was called when Schiff received 36.9% of the vote while Garvey secured 29.6% of the total vote.
Over 30 candidates appeared on the ballot to become the newest senator. Representatives who lost to newcomer Garvey included Katie Porter (D-Calif.), Barbara Lee (D-Calif.), and Eric Early (R-Calif.).
The seat that Garvey and Schiff are running for was previously held by the late Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) for three decades. She passed away on September 29th, 2023.
