Federal Reserve chairman Jerome Powell ⁣will deliver a semiannual testimony to the House ‌Financial Services Committee on⁤ Wednesday morning.

The Fed could start cutting interest rates ​this ‌year from their 23-year⁣ high of about 5.4% as inflation has fallen in recent months.

Powell⁢ will address the House committee ⁢at‍ 10 a.m. ⁣Eastern ⁣time and will deliver remarks to the Senate Banking ⁣Committee on Thursday.
