Oklahoma Superintendent slams Chasten Buttigieg for indoctrinating children
Chasten Buttigieg Clashes with Oklahoma Superintendent over TikTok Star’s Appointment
The controversy surrounding the appointment of Chaya Raichik, also known as Libs of TikTok, to an Oklahoma state advisory panel on education has sparked a heated exchange between Chasten Buttigieg, partner of Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg, and Oklahoma Superintendent of Public Instruction Ryan Walters.
Buttigieg criticized the appointment, stating that Oklahoma’s low education ranking should prompt a focus on more qualified individuals. In response, Walters accused Buttigieg of indoctrinating children.

Buttigieg defended his stance, emphasizing the need for qualified individuals in education. He argued that Raichik lacked the necessary qualifications, including living in Oklahoma, holding an education degree, and having classroom experience.
As a parent and former teacher, I want qualified people involved in education. This is actually quite simple. Chaya isn’t qualified for her appointed government position. She doesn’t live in Oklahoma. Holds no degree in education. Zero classroom experience. The rest is theatrics. pic.twitter.com/dV78j7Dx7t

Raichik retaliated by sharing a video of Buttigieg leading children at a Pride Camp, where they chanted in support of LGBTQ pride. She accused Buttigieg of attacking her to divert attention from his own actions.

Walters fired back, asserting that he will not take advice from someone who is “actively indoctrinating kids.”
