“Fund 4 Good” – A Commitment to Reproductive Health Freedom
Previously, the 21-year-old hitmaker announced her “Fund 4 Good” initiative through Variety, an effort dedicated to aiding individuals in pursuit of reproductive health freedoms. Rodrigo has pledged to donate proceeds from her “Guts” tour tickets to this cause and has also collaborated with the National Network of Abortion Funds.
“The fight for abortion access is now more crucial than ever,” expressed Oriaku Njoku, NNAF’s executive director, to USA TODAY. “We’re thrilled to partner with Olivia Rodrigo who is using her platform to spotlight the importance of abortion funds and mobilize her fans toward advocating for reproductive freedom.”
Missouri Abortion Fund and Julie Speak Out
The Missouri Abortion Fund expressed their support for Rodrigo’s bold move to distribute Plan B at her concert, stating on Twitter, “Missouri is a tough battleground, but we stand firm for abortion access and will continue to provide Plan B with @TextRightByYou.”
Moreover, Variety disclosed the perspective of Julie, the emergency contraception brand, affirming their goal to change the narrative surrounding the morning-after pill. “We’re inspired by Olivia Rodrigo and partners like the Missouri Abortion Fund who echo our values. Through ‘Julie for All’, we donate a morning-after pill for each one sold, and we’re proud of the 1 million units we’ve provided to over 300 partners nationwide.”
The “Good 4 U” artist has also vocalized her dismay over the Roe v. Wade ruling. In a heart-to-heart video shared online, Rodrigo stated, “I’m devastated by the potential Supreme Court decision. The choice on what a woman does with her body should never lie with politicians. Let’s unite our voices to safeguard the crucial ability to obtain a safe abortion, a fight fought ardently by generations before us.”
