After the tragic collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge, people were in shock. However, as people have come to terms with the reality and processed what occurred, they now have some questions, such as why the Biden administration has promised that the federal government will pay for the bridge cleanup and rebuild when there is an active investigation in the works.

“There’s gonna be a lot of investigations right now,” said Gwen-Marie Davis Hicks, founder and managing partner of Washington, D.C.-based GDH Law. “It’s preliminary. You know, so that is where we’re looking at. But it does lead to there probably is some negligence based upon early investigations on the Dali, owner of the boat, you know, what is that going to lead to?”

Gov. Wes Moore (D-MD) said small businesses affected by the bridge collapse can apply for up to $2 million in loans with a “small interest.” The Washington Examiner reached out to the Small Business Administration for the exact interest rates being offered to affected businesses.

The White House later released a press release that detailed that the interest rate for small businesses would be 4% and 3.25% for private nonprofit organizations.
