Trump and RNC reveal impressive fundraising results, easing concerns about campaign finances
Former President Donald Trump and the Republican National Committee raised $65.6 million in March, surpassing their previous fundraising numbers from four years ago when Trump ran for reelection. The successful fundraising efforts were highlighted in a Politico report, indicating strong support for Trump from voters. The collaboration between the campaign and the RNC has been instrumental in boosting contributions.
Former President Donald Trump, alongside the Republican National Committee, raised $65.6 million despite concerns about lackluster fundraising compared to Democrats, according to a Politico report.
This month’s numbers outpaced his fundraising four years ago when he ran for reelection, having raised $62 million in March 2020.
“Our campaign, working together with the RNC, has been steadily ramping up our fundraising efforts, and our March numbers are a testament to the overwhelming support for President Trump by voters all across the spectrum,” Trump campaign co-manager Susie Wiles said.
Last month, the Trump campaign took over the RNC, installing Michael Whatley and Trump’s daughter-in-law Lara Trump as co-chairs. Chris LaCivita, Trump’s campaign manager, also serves as chief of staff of the RNC.
Trump’s allies hope this number will calm any fundraising doubts about the former president after President Joe Biden raised $25 million in a single night during a New York fundraiser with former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton. In February, Biden and the Democratic National Committee raised $53 million and ended the month with $155 million on hand. Comparatively, Trump and the RNC raised $15.9 million in February, ending the month with $37 million on hand.
The Biden campaign has yet to release total fundraising numbers for March.
The numbers come after a new campaign financing agreement regarding the Trump campaign, the RNC, and his legal fees. Under Trump’s joint financing agreement, the Trump 47 Committee, donations are directed to the Trump campaign or the Save America PAC, which pays for his legal bills, before the RNC gets a cut.

Trump has had to divert millions of dollars to fund his legal battles, which has put the RNC in a financially precarious position as it struggled to keep the same amount of cash on hand as the DNC. In February, the Save America PAC spent $5.6 million on legal expenses.
The former president is set to host a large fundraising event at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, on Saturday. The Trump campaign hopes this will boost its funds as Biden’s New York event did. Guests are asked to donate $814,600, which is the highest amount that can be donated to the Trump 47 Committee.
