Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson expresses dissatisfaction with the current state of America, won’t support Biden for reelection
Dwayne Johnson, after endorsing Joe Biden in 2020, stated he won’t publicly support Biden for the 2024 election. Expressing discontent with America’s current state, Johnson emphasized his optimism for improvement. Noting his previous endorsement as a decision made from influence, he affirmed his choice not to endorse Biden again. His comments come amidst discussions about political affiliations in Hollywood.
After endorsing President Joe Biden’s run against former President Donald Trump in 2020, actor and WWE star Dwayne Johnson said he will not throw public support behind the president in the 2024 election.
“The Rock” told “Fox & Friends” Friday morning that while he thought endorsing Biden in 2020 was “the best decision for me at that time,” he’s now unhappy with the current state of the U.S.
“Am I happy with the state of America right now? Well, that answer is no,” Johnson said. “Do I believe we’re going to get better? I believe in that. I’m an optimistic guy.”
“The endorsement that I made years ago with Biden was one that I thought was the best decision for me at that time,” he added. “And I thought back then … ‘Hey, I’m in this position where I have some influence,’ … and I felt like that then that it’s my job to exercise my influence and share with [people] this is who I’m going to endorse. Am I going to do that again this year? That answer is no.”

The Rock’s comments to Fox News come months after he said he has friends in Hollywood who do not support Biden but remain loyal to the Democratic Party.
“Dude, it’s the craziest thing. I have friends who support [former President Donald] Trump,” Johnson told podcast host Joe Rogan. “I have friends who support [President Joe] Biden.”
Rogan then interrupted and asked Johnson to clarify if he “really” has “friends who support Biden,” and Johnson replied, “No.”
“Oh no, no, no, no, no … That’s a good check because that’s important. This is important context. … I have friends who are loyal to the [Democratic] Party,” he added.

Johnson, who considers himself an independent and “centrist,” endorsed Biden and Kamala Harris in September 2020 in what he said was his “first ever public presidential endorsement.”
“As a political independent and centrist for many years, I’ve voted for Democrats in the past and as well as Republican[s],” Johnson wrote on social media. “In this critical election, I believe Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are the best to lead our country, and as my first ever (public) Presidential endorsement, I proudly endorse them for the presidential office of our United States.”
The actor appeared in a video chat with Biden and Harris to announce his endorsement.
“You guys are obviously experienced to lead,” Johnson said. “Joe, you’ve done some great things. You’ve had such an incredible career. You’ve led in my opinion with great compassion and heart and drive, but also soul.”
Thank you @TheRock for your support at this critical moment for our nation.
You said it best: This election is about earning the respect of the American people. It’s about decency. It’s about electing leaders who tell the truth.
