Tragedy strikes as gunman takes three lives at Las Vegas law office

A man and a woman were killed by a shooter inside a building in the Summerlin neighborhood of Las Vegas on Monday morning.

Shots were fired during a deposition at Prince Law Group, according to police. The gunman is also dead, and he is believed to have killed himself.

Clark County Sheriff Kevin McMahill said the shooting was reported just after 10 a.m. local time in the law office on the fifth floor. Hundreds of people who had been in the building at the time of the shooting were evacuated and evaluated after by emergency responders.

While a motive has not been announced, sources reportedly told local outlet KTNV that attorney Joe Houston was the gunman and that the victims were Houston’s former daughter-in-law, Ashley Prince, and her new husband, attorney Dennis Prince.

McMahill said authorities were looking at the suspect’s vehicle but that there is no longer any threat to the community.

Summerlin is just 30 minutes away from the Las Vegas Strip.
