Eric Trump cautions of increased ‘lawfare’ if Supreme Court denies immunity
Eric Trump warned of potential White House legal turmoil if the Supreme Court rules against his father, Donald Trump, leading to a debate over immunity. In an interview with Fox News host, Maria Bartiromo, Eric emphasized the repercussions of a wrong decision, foreseeing an onslaught on former presidents and the looming threat of legal battles affecting the presidential office. This summary captures the key points of Eric Trump’s warning about potential legal turmoil in the White House if the Supreme Court rules against his father, Donald Trump, in a debate over immunity. It highlights Eric’s concerns about the impact of such a decision on former presidents and the presidency as a whole.
On Sunday, Eric Trump offered a vision of the future in which the White House is paralyzed by legal battles if the Supreme Court rules against his father, former President Donald Trump, in a debate over immunity.
Fox News host Maria Bartiromo asked Eric Trump, executive vice president of Trump Organization Inc., for his takeaway from last week’s oral arguments, during which the high court considered elder Trump’s claim that his official acts should be immune from federal prosecution.
“Well, God help us if they get it wrong. That’s what I take away. I know the system very, very well,” Eric Trump said during the interview on “Sunday Morning Futures.”
He argued the “only people who are going to benefit are big law firms in Washington, D.C., because they are going to go after every single president” and suggested they would start with former President Barack Obama over the Operation Fast and Furious controversy and the IRS going after conservatives.

The Trump son said President Joe Biden could also become a target over the scandal over cocaine being found in the White House, the Biden administration raiding his father’s Mar-a-Lago resort in a documents probe, and a significant Strategic Petroleum Reserve drawdown right before the 2022 midterm elections.
“I mean, where do you want to stop?” Eric Trump asked before suggesting that even former President George W. Bush might face renewed scrutiny due to the scandal regarding unfounded claims of weapons of mass destruction in the run-up to the Iraq War.
“The only people that are going to win are going to be the lawyers in Washington, D.C. The floodgates are going to open,” he said. “And I guarantee you Joe Biden will not have one foot outside of the White House doors before they start going after him legally, ruthlessly.”

Eric Trump contended that presidents “need immunity in this country. If they don’t, their entire tenure as president is literally going to be filled in depositions and subpoenas, like they have tried to do to my father for the last eight years.”
He added, “We can’t have this legal lawfare in this country. We need a president to actually be able to function and run the United States of America.”
Asked what he is expecting in June when it comes to a Supreme Court decision, Eric Trump said he hopes presidents can have “absolute immunity” — echoing his father’s stance as the elder Trump tries to fend off charges across multiple cases while running another campaign for the White House.
“And if they don’t, they’re not going to be able to function as presidents of the United States,” Eric Trump said.
