Alabama shooting at party results in 3 fatalities and 15 wounded

At least three people are dead after shots were fired at a party in south Alabama on Saturday night, police said.

Eighteen people were shot in total, according to the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office. About 1,000 people were attending the May Day party near Stockton when an argument broke out and at least one person fired multiple shots into the crowd, per WALA.

Authorities are investigating whether there may have been multiple shooters. The Washington Examiner reached out to the sheriff’s office to learn whether any arrests have been made.

Andre Reid with the sheriff’s office told the outlet the victims were mostly “younger people.” Stockton is located about 30 miles northeast of Mobile, Alabama. It has a population of just about 400.

“We are working very hard to bring this case to a resolution, but we cannot make arrests or successfully prosecute the offenders without help,” a BCSO statement said. “The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance with this investigation.”

No law enforcement officers were involved in the shooting, according to Reid.
