Kennedy drew the ire of conservative politicians and influencers last Wednesday when he told Sage Steele that while he personally disagrees with it, he believes a woman should be allowed to get an abortion “even if it’s full-term.”
Two days after his controversial interview, Kennedy appeared to walk back his comments in a long-form post on X. He stated that he sees a consensus emerging on the “notoriously divisive issue,” namely that “abortion should be legal up until a certain number of weeks, and restricted thereafter.”
“Mr. Kennedy’s position, as posted on X, is perfectly clear — no restrictions until the point of viability outside the womb,” an RFK Jr. campaign spokesperson told the Washington Examiner.
