Harrison Butker’s Jersey Sales Surge Amid Commencement Speech Controversy
Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker experienced a surge in jersey sales after controversy arose from his commencement speech. Labeled misogynistic by some, the speech triggered a leftist backlash seeking his dismissal. Despite this, Butker’s jersey became a top seller on the Fanatics NFL shop, surpassing even star QB Patrick Mahomes in sales on the NFL site. The increased sales signify support amidst cancel culture attempts.
Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker’s jersey sales have soared following a leftist meltdown over his commencement speech that some have labeled misogynistic, “discriminatory,” and more.
Butker’s #7 jersey has catapulted to one of the top selling jerseys on Fanatics NFL shop site, according to Kansas City CBS affiliate KCTV 5. On the NFL site, the placekicker’s jersey is listed as “Most Popular in Jerseys,” putting his sales higher than that of Kansas City Chiefs star QB Patrick Mahomes.
The boost in jersey sales comes amid a full-press attempt by leftists in Hollywood, on TV, in the news, and elsewhere to cancel the kicker and get him fired following his speech to graduates at Benedictine College.
During his speech at the Catholic college, Butker said his wife would agree that her life “truly started when she began living her vocation as a wife and as a mother.”

“How many of you are sitting here now, about to cross this stage, and are thinking about all the promotions and titles you are going to get in your career? Some of you may go on to lead successful careers in the world,” Butker said. “But I would venture to guess that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into this world.”
“It cannot be overstated that all of my success is made possible because a girl I met in band class back in middle school would convert to the faith, become my wife, and embrace one of the most important titles of all: homemaker,” he added.
His comments drew backlash online, with critics branding him as misogynistic and more.

During his remarks, Butker appeared to call out President Joe Biden’s support for abortion, without naming him, DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) initiatives, and LGBTQ “Pride month.”
“Our nation is led by a man who publicly and proudly proclaims his Catholic faith, but at the same time is delusional enough to make the sign of the cross during a pro-abortion rally,” Butker said. “He has been so vocal in his support for the murder of innocent babies that I’m sure to many people, it appears you can be both Catholic and pro-choice.”
The kicker also called out the “deadly sin sort of pride that has a month dedicated to it” and blasted those “behind the COVID lockdowns, to the people pushing dangerous gender ideologies onto the youth of America.”
A Change.org petition calling for the three-time Super Bowl champion to be kicked off the Chiefs team for his “discriminatory” remarks has amassed more than 151,000 signatures.
