Three people were injured Sunday after a man stole and crashed a Los Angeles Police Department patrol cruiser.
Around 3:30 a.m., the male suspect approached the cruiser in the area around 12th and Figueroa streets before entering the vehicle and driving off, according to a report citing the LAPD.
It is not clear if the female officer responsible for the cruiser was in the vehicle when it was taken, but she was dragged by the cruiser as the suspect attempted to get away.
A chase ensued, according to police, ending with the cruiser crashing into at least two vehicles and a pole.
“After the collision he continued northbound Fig where the vehicle came to rest at 7th and Fig,” police said.
