Kansas City cuts ties with employee who revealed Harrison Butker’s information

Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas’ spokesperson confirmed the separation of an employee who doxxed Harrison ‍Butker from city employment. The employee breached city policy‍ by divulging information beyond ⁣authorized communications. Following backlash, the city deleted a post referencing Butker’s address. The incident sparked controversy over ‍Butker’s commencement ‍speech ⁤views. The Mayor addressed the situation through an official statement.

Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas’ spokesperson has confirmed that the employee who doxxed Harrison Butker has “separated” from city employment.

The spokesperson said in a statement that “the employee has been separated from the City workforce for violation of City policy by posting outside the scope of authorized City communications,” KMBC News Channel 9 ABC reported.

“The City will have no further comment on the post or individual employees related to it,” the statement added.

The news comes following a post on X on its official city-run account that referenced where Butker lives amid attacks from the Left over his commencement speech to the graduates at Benedictine College — when he praised his wife for being a “homemaker,” called out President Joe Biden’s support for abortion, and criticized LGBT “Pride month.”

“Just a reminder that Harrison Butker lives in … ” the city of Kansas City posted on its official social media account, listing where he lived.

The city then quickly deleted that post and put out another apologizing for the “previous tweet,” misspelling the word “apologize,” as previously reported.

The Mayor also responded and wrote in a post on X, “A message appeared earlier this evening from a City public account.”

“The message was clearly inappropriate for a public account,” Lucas added. “The City has correctly apologized for the error, will review account access, and ensure nothing like it is shared in the future from public channels.”

During Butker’s speech at the Catholic college, the placekicker said his wife would agree that her life “truly started when she began living her vocation as a wife and as a mother.”

“How many of you are sitting here now, about to cross this stage, and are thinking about all the promotions and titles you are going to get in your career? Some of you may go on to lead successful careers in the world,” Butker said. “But I would venture to guess that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into this world.”

“It cannot be overstated that all of my success is made possible because a girl I met in band class back in middle school would convert to the faith, become my wife, and embrace one of the most important titles of all: homemaker,” he added.

His comments drew backlash online, with critics branding him as misogynistic and more.

A Change.org petition calling for the three-time Super Bowl champion to be kicked off the Chiefs team for his “discriminatory” remarks has amassed more than 220,000 signatures.
