Paris Hilton’s Video of Infant Son with Incorrectly Worn Life Jacket Raises Alarms

Paris Hilton sparked concerns again for the safety of her infant child after posting a video of her son wearing a life jacket backward while in a pool.

In a video posted on TikTok, Hilton was swimming in a pool with her 1-year-old son Phoenix who was wearing a puddle-jumper (life jacket) wrong, sparking upset among parents.

“Adventures with Baby P,” the 43-year-old socialite captioned her post, showing her holding her little one in the water who was wearing blue floaties with the buckle across his chest instead of across his back.

“Hey momma just a tip from another puddle jumper mom I think it’s on backwards,” one person responded. “But I love this video pure joy.”

Another person added, “Double check the puddle jumper, I believe it’s on backwards.”

While a third person shared, “[His] floaties are on backward, the clips goes in the back, but also happens to lots of new moms.”

One person — who said they were a swimming instructor — advised the heiress to forgo the puddle jumper for something better.

“Swimming teacher here, see if you can swap the puddle jumper for a float jacket,” the person wrote. “Gives him the use of his arms to aide his swim journey.”

Hilton saw the hundreds of responses and replied to one person, “Oops! Thank you! I never let him out of my arms. thought it was backwards too, I said that to the person who I bought it from & they said it was on right.”

“But thank you so much for letting me know,” she added, replying to others concerned,  “thank you.”

Earlier this month, Hilton responded to criticism after she posted a since-deleted video on TikTok of her young kids’ forward-facing car seat setup in the back of her van.

In a post on the social media site, Hilton posted a video of her son and daughter London, 6 months old, in their car seats — now properly positioned, with both babies facing towards the back of the van.

“Thanks for the mom advice, I’m new to this,” Hilton said in the clip. “The #CutesieCrew is now ready for take off in the #SlivingMom van.”

“No one is perfect,” she added to one follower. “Love you.”

In January 2023, Paris shocked everyone when she posted a photo on her Instagram announcing that she and husband Carter Reum had welcomed their first child via a surrogate after tying the knot in 2021. In November of that same year, Hilton revealed they were going to be parents again via surrogacy with a daughter.
