Joy Behar claimed on Thursday that Americans had saved France — and saved the world — during World War II only to throw it “down the toilet” if they elected former President Donald Trump to a second term.

Behar joined twice-failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton — who lost to Trump in 2016 — in comparing the very real threat posed by Adolf Hitler and his Nazi regime to another Trump presidency.

Whoopi Goldberg kicked off the conversation on “The View,” commemorating the 80th anniversary of D-Day by lamenting the fact that the younger generations do not understand what really happened during World War II. Goldberg herself was previously suspended from the show for claiming that the Holocaust was “not about race.”

Behar followed that with her assessment: “When I was there, I had a guide who was French, and I said to him, ‘We save France,’ and he said, ‘You saved the world. You saved the world.’ And that is the most touching thing that anybody has ever said to me about this country.”

But then Behar pivoted, saying, “And for us to be throwing it down the toilet to a convicted felon, to somebody who was liable for rape, who lies and cheats —”

Sunny Hostin briefly corrected Behar, saying that Trump was not held liable for rape but for sexual abuse.

“— sexual harassment, whatever it is,” Behar continued, trotting out the claim that Trump had referred to American service members as “suckers and losers.”

“Today is the day to reflect on what we have in this country and what we could lose very easily if we don’t watch it,” she concluded.
