House Oversight Chair Urges DOJ to Investigate All Biden Family Financial Crimes
Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-KY) commented on the recent guilty verdict in Hunter Biden’s gun trial, expressing dissatisfaction by stating that justice was not fully served as the Biden family, particularly Joe Biden, has not been held accountable for alleged crimes. In a Fox News interview following the trial where Hunter Biden was convicted on charges related to firearms, including lying on a gun application, Comer emphasized that this verdict poses additional legal troubles for Hunter Biden, who faces up to 25 years in prison and $750,000 in fines. Comer also mentioned that Hunter Biden’s congressional deposition involved perjury as he allegedly lied to protect Joe Biden, which could impact his sentencing for the current convictions.
Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-KY) responded to the guilty verdict in the Hunter Biden gun trial this week by saying that justice has not been served because the Bidens have not been held accountable for alleged crimes they have committed.
Comer made the remarks during a Fox News interview on Tuesday night after a federal jury convicted Hunter Biden, 54, on all three felony counts, including lying to a federally licensed firearms dealer, making a false claim on a federal firearms background check form, and being in possession of an illegally obtained firearm. Hunter Biden faces up to 25 years in prison for his crimes and up to $750,000 in fines.
Comer said that the conviction spelled “more problems for Hunter Biden” because he is facing other criminal prosecutions and is now a convicted felon, meaning his sentencing could become more severe.
“Look, what Hunter Biden did in his [congressional] deposition is he clearly lied,” he said. “And why did he lie? He lied to protect Joe Biden. But the fact that he lied under oath is clearly perjury, this will be used to determine his sentencing. So not only do you have the gun trial, where he clearly lied on the gun application, the jury saw right through that.”
“Now he’s got his tax evasion charges, where we know he didn’t pay his taxes, we know to this day, he hasn’t paid his taxes,” he continued. “His taxes were paid years later by a major Democrat donor prior to the presidential election to help alleviate a problem Joe Biden had in the presidential election against Trump. So what we’ve done with the criminal referrals, as you know, is the first step. It’s just the beginning. But it’s a major problem for Hunter Biden, and it’s going to be taken into account when it comes time for his sentencing.

Comer later added that “justice has not been served, justice will not be served until the Department of Justice takes into account all of the financial crimes that the entire Biden family committed.”
“It wasn’t just Hunter Biden, it was also Joe Biden and Jim Biden,” he continued. “The entire family benefited from the Biden influence peddling schemes. We had three people testify, who were once partners with Hunter Biden in these schemes. They testified under oath, that the Biden’s were selling the Biden brand, they were selling access to Joe Biden, there was never a legitimate business. We know from the IRS whistleblowers, they never paid any taxes on the tens of millions of dollars they took from our adversaries around the world.”
