RFK Jr. tells Democrats to ring him up as Biden replacement: ‘My number’s on the internet’

As Democrats panic over President Joe Biden’s wobbling reelection bid, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. says he’s ready to bail out the party as a replacement for the 81-year-old.

A lifelong Democrat, Kennedy left his party last year to mount an independent bid for the presidency. At the time, he said he believed the party establishment had rigged the Democratic primary in favor of President Joe Biden. On Thursday, Kennedy offered his services to his old party as many Democrats consider alternatives to Biden.

“The Democratic Party is scrambling to around to find a candidate who can beat Donald Trump,” the independent presidential candidate noted in a video posted on X on Thursday.

The nephew of President John F. Kennedy said he is the solution to the Left’s problems.

“They can stop looking. I am the only one who can beat him,” Kennedy claimed. “If they’re interested, my telephone number is on the internet.”

In May, the Kennedy campaign touted the findings of a John Zogby Strategies poll that showed Kennedy pulling off a narrow victory in a two-way race against Trump. The poll surveyed 26,000 likely voters.

Additional recent data provided to U.S. News and World Report from Generation Lab showed Kennedy besting Trump in the race to the White House. In a three-way race between Biden, Trump, and Kennedy, the independent candidate won out over Trump. Biden earned 37% of the vote, Kennedy took 27%, and Trump came last with 25% of the vote. A final 12% selected “other” in the survey. The news comes as the most recent polling shows Biden consistently losing to Trump in November.

Running as a Democrat would make life much easier for Kennedy. As an independent candidate for president, Kennedy has had to face the challenge of getting his name on every state ballot.

Kennedy comes from a revered and powerful American political dynasty that is no stranger to obstacles. After his uncle and then president of the United States was assassinated in 1963, Kennedy’s father made his own bid for president. However, Robert Kennedy Sr. was murdered during the election season in 1968.

While the Biden administration continues to withhold Secret Service protection from the independent candidate, a move the Kennedy campaign claims is based on political animosity, Kennedy soldiers on with his bid for the White House.

Thus far, the Kennedy campaign is on the ballot in 10 states: California, Colorado, Delaware, Hawaii, Michigan, Minnesota, New Mexico, Oklahoma, South Carolina, and Utah. It has submitted the necessary number of signatures for ballot access in 14 more states, although the states have yet to confirm ballot access. Meanwhile, the campaign said it has collected enough signatures for ballot access in 5 additional states: Florida, Idaho, Iowa, Mississippi, and New Hampshire.

In all, the Kennedy campaign claims it has collected the signatures needed for ballot access in 29 states, totaling 390 electoral votes, 72% of the 538 total electoral votes nationwide.
