Several notable donations, including $50,000 from Senator Rick Scott and his wife, have contributed to the fundraiser’s success. The victim killed at the rally, Corey Comperatore, was a former fire chief, and his daughter’s tribute has touched many. Nicole Shanahan, the vice presidential candidate of Independent Presidential candidate Robert Kennedy Jr., donated $20,000 to the fundraiser. The fundraiser aims to provide support to the victims and their families as they recover from the tragic event.

An online fundraiser started by former President Donald Trump’s campaign has skyrocketed past its financial goal of one million dollars.
The fundraiser, organized by Trump campaign senior adviser Meredith O’Rourke, was started after the attempted assassination of the former president at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, where a bystander was killed and two others injured. As of Monday afternoon, the GoFundMe page has raised over $4 million for the victims and their families.
“President Donald Trump has authorized this account as a place for donations to the supporters and families wounded or killed in today’s brutal and horrific assassination attempt,” the fundraiser page read. “All donations will be directed to these proud Americans as they grieve and recover. May God bless and unite our nation.”
Numerous $50,000 donations have been made to the fundraiser, with the latest being from Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL) and his wife Ann Scott. The Heritage Foundation has also made a donation of the same amount.
“I donate my Senate salary every quarter and am honored to join @KidRock, @danawhite, @ufc and others in supporting the victims of the Butler shooting,” Scott wrote on X. “I am sending $50K to this great cause.”
Nicole Shanahan, the vice presidential candidate of Independent Presidential candidate Robert Kennedy Jr., has donated $20,000 to the fundraiser.
The victim who was killed at the Butler rally is Corey Comperatore, a former fire chief from the area. Shanahan wrote on X that Allyson Comperatore, Corey’s daughter, had her life changed “forever” after the rally and that she “wrote the most incredible tribute to her father” on Facebook.

The shooting took place just two days before the 2024 Republican National Convention, where Trump is expected to become the party’s presidential nominee. Trump has since reflected on the historic events that occurred Saturday, telling the Washington Examiner’s Byron York that he is “not supposed to be here.”
Gov. Tony Evers (D-WI) has asked the Secret Service to reconsider its decision to allow firearms within the “soft perimeter” of the RNC in Milwaukee. He believes it is “exceedingly important that additional steps be taken to keep convention participants and attendees, law enforcement, and the local community safe.”
