Harris makes small but steady gains over Biden’s numbers in swing states: Polls – Washington Examiner

A⁣ recent analysis indicates that the race between Vice ⁣President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump is becoming increasingly⁣ competitive in key swing states following President Joe Biden’s decision to withdraw from the 2024 presidential ⁤race. Although a Wall Street Journal poll showsTrump leading Harris by 2%, this is a narrowing of ⁤his previous 6-point advantage over Biden. As Harris embarks on her own‍ campaign, ‍evidence suggests she is regaining popularity, particularly in states like Minnesota, where she is reportedly 6 points ahead of Trump. Additionally, she‌ appears to ⁢be making strides ⁣in⁢ Wisconsin and Michigan, ‍suggesting a shift in voter dynamics in these crucial regions.

Harris makes small but steady gains over Biden’s numbers in swing states: Polls

The race between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump is tightening, according to polls conducted after President Joe Biden’s historic campaign exit.

While a Wall Street Journal poll shows Trump leading Harris by 2%, the GOP nominee’s performance is lagging from a 6-point lead he held against Biden before the Democrat dropped his reelection bid.

With members of Biden’s own party warning he couldn’t pull off a win against Trump this November, President Joe Biden nodded goodbye to a second term on Sunday. As Biden’s heir apparent launches her own campaign, new data indicates Harris may be regaining some lost ground.

According to a Fox News poll released Friday, Harris is 6 points ahead of Trump in Minnesota. Before Biden made his historic campaign exit, one poll conducted in June indicated he was in a dead heat with Trump, with both candidates polling at 45%.

Harris appears to have made gains in Wisconsin and Michigan as well. Earlier this month, Trump led Biden in both states by 5% and 3%, respectively, according to an Emerson College poll. The Fox News poll now shows Trump leading in Wisconsin by just 1%, and shows a tie in Michigan. Another survey conducted this week by Emerson College Polling/the Hill polling shows Trump retained a slight lead in Michigan, while he’s tied with Harris in Wisconsin.

Harris and Trump are also shooting a close race in Pennsylvania, a state critical to securing an Electoral College win. According to the Fox News poll, the two appear to be tied in the battleground state, while the Emerson College/the Hill survey shows Trump snagging a two-point lead. Before Biden dropped out of the presidential race, a New York Times poll reported the GOP leader was leading by 3 points.
