Costco class action: Customers have 11 days to submit claim for part of $2 million settlement
There are just 11 days left for Costco customers to submit a claim to receive money from a class-action lawsuit settlement if they purchased Kirkland Signature Moist Flushable Wipes between 2011 and 2017 in New York.
The lawsuit claims that Costco falsely advertised the wipes as flushable when they actually weren’t, and the wipes damaged pipes and septic systems and led to other plumbing problems for customers.
“Consumers argue they would not have purchased the wipes if they knew they were not truly flushable as advertised,” according to Top Class Actions.
While Costco admitted no wrongdoing, the company agreed to pay out $2 million.
Customers who made purchases in New York between July 1, 2011, and May 31, 2017, are eligible to be paid out, but they do not need to show proof with a receipt. Customers are eligible to receive $1.30 per purchased product, with a minimum award of $7.50 and a maximum payment of $55.90 per household. This is the equivalent of 43 products.
Consumers must visit this website to submit their claims.
