“Hurricane Debby blew 25 packages of cocaine (70 lbs.) onto a beach in the Florida Keys. Good Samaritan discovered the drugs & contacted authorities. U.S. Border Patrol seized the drugs, which have a street value of over $1 million dollars,” Briggs said in the post.
Border Patrol seized the cocaine as Hurricane Debby, now downgraded to a tropical storm, continues to batter northwestern Florida.
The storm made landfall Monday morning at roughly 7 a.m. EDT in Steinhatchee, Florida, near the state’s Big Bend. More than 200,000 customers in Florida are without power, as of Monday afternoon, according to poweroutage.us.
The storm has killed four people, according to officials, and it will continue its way north through parts of Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, and possibly Virginia later in the week, as it is likely to weaken over land.
