‘No light’ between Trump and Vance – Washington Examiner

A report has emerged suggesting that former ‌President Donald Trump ‍may be frustrated with his choice of Republican Senate candidate J.D. Vance as his potential running mate. However, recent statements from‌ key Trump insider Jessie Jane Duff refute this ‍claim, asserting ‍that there is‌ “no ⁢light” between Trump and Vance, highlighting their shared alignment on⁤ issues. Duff, who has been an advisor on‍ veterans’ issues, emphasized that Vance is on the same page as Trump. The situation gained attention after the Daily Mail reported that ⁢Trump’s campaign insiders, including ⁣former White House⁢ official Anthony Scaramucci, claimed Trump was unhappy with Vance’s selection. Scaramucci’s ⁣remarks⁢ have been dismissed by current ⁤Trump⁤ insiders, who criticized his credibility due to his brief tenure in the ‍Trump administration. Despite ‌the⁣ speculation, Trump has praised Vance for his role in campaigning against Democratic vice presidential candidate Kamala Harris and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.

‘No light’ between Trump and Vance

A key Trump insider today pushed back on reports that former President Donald Trump is upset with his pick of Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) as the GOP running mate.

“I see actually no light between him and J.D. Vance,” Jessie Jane Duff, executive director of Veterans and Military Families for Trump, told Secrets.

“He has been on the same page as Donald Trump,” said the retired U.S. Marine Corps gunnery sergeant who has long been a Trump insider and adviser on veterans issues.

In a story picked up in anti-Trump social media, including the Drudge Report, the Daily Mail today said that the former president is angry over picking Vance as his No. 2.

The story quoted Trump-era White House official Anthony Scaramucci saying, “He’s lighting people up inside his campaign right now about picking Vance.”

Current Trump insiders mocked the outlet for quoting Scaramucci, who was dumped after just less than two weeks as a top communicator for Trump. While he has joined the crew of former Trump aides critical of the ex-president, he claimed and the paper reported that he maintains “close ties” with the inner circle, though there was no mention of who he has ties with.

Trump has given high praise to Vance, who has been the campaign’s point person on criticizing Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate, Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN).

Vance has recently been part of the effort calling out Walz’s fabrication of his military rank and experiences. He has been careful to praise Walz for serving in the military but critical of his exaggerations.

He is expected to continue that on Thursday when he visits a Veterans of Foreign Wars hall in western Pennsylvania, where the veteran vote is influential.

Duff will introduce Vance at the event that will also feature veterans Reps. Jim Banks (R-IN), Brian Mast (R-FL), and Michael Waltz (R-FL).
