Kaylee McGhee White predicts Biden’s hand in Democratic politics to be minimal post-DNC – Washington Examiner
Kaylee McGhee White, a writer for the *Washington Examiner*, has predicted that President Joe Biden’s involvement in Democratic politics will be minimal after his upcoming speech at the Democratic National Convention (DNC). She refers to this as an “unspoken fact” surrounding the event. Biden will be speaking on the first night of the convention and is expected to follow this with a trip to California and then to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. McGhee White suggests that this speech may symbolize Biden’s exit from the political scene after previously withdrawing from the 2024 race.
During a discussion on Fox Business’s *Varney & Co.*, she highlighted the underlying issues affecting the convention, including concerns over Biden’s mental fitness and political legitimacy. Additionally, she mentioned that other prominent speakers, such as First Lady Jill Biden and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, will appear on the first night, while Vice President Kamala Harris is set to receive official nomination later in the week. McGhee White also commented that current polling may underestimate support for former President Donald Trump, noting that issues facing voters have remained unchanged since Harris entered the race.

The Washington Examiner’s Kaylee McGhee White predicted a lack of involvement from President Joe Biden in politics after his speech at the Democratic National Convention, describing this as the “unspoken fact” about the event.
Biden is set to headline Monday night of the DNC, after which he is scheduled to spend the rest of the week in California before heading to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, on Sunday. McGhee White, Restoring America editor for the Washington Examiner, suggested that Monday night’s speech could end up being the president’s swan song in the 2024 election cycle after he bowed out of the 2024 race last month.
“And that’s sort of the awkward unspoken fact of this convention,” McGhee White said on Fox Business’s Varney & Co. “A lot of the people that I’ve spoken to thus far at my hotel earlier this morning and even arriving, they don’t want to talk about the fact that really what’s undermining this convention is a scandal upon a scandal. First there was the scandal of Joe Biden’s diminished mental capacity, which they tried to hide, and then there was the scandal of the coup that now even Joe Biden is being forced to pretend didn’t happen.”
Aside from the president, Monday night’s DNC speakers will include first lady Jill Biden and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Vice President Kamala Harris, who received Biden’s endorsement last month, is expected to accept the convention’s nomination Thursday night.
McGhee White also suggested that polling data on the 2024 election underestimate support for former President Donald Trump because the issues voters face have not changed since Harris entered the race. Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH), Trump’s 2024 running mate, claimed Sunday that Harris’s support has already “leveled off” after experiencing a “sugar high” despite polling data indicating she is ahead of Trump.
“And there’s a reason that Joe Biden was trailing Donald Trump even before his campaign imploded during the debate, and that’s because voters prefer Donald Trump on the issues,” McGhee White said. “And that’s still true. The latest Fox News polls show that voters still prefer Donald Trump on issues like immigration and the economy over Kamala Harris by double digits.”
McGhee White concluded that Harris has received a boost in support from voters motivated to support her over Biden but that the issues voters are facing are what will drive voters to the polls.
Amid the Democratic convention, Trump is campaigning across multiple battleground states, with his first stop in York, Pennsylvania, on Monday. The Keystone State was won by Trump in the 2016 Electoral College but went to Biden in 2020.
Other swing states Trump is set to visit include North Carolina on Wednesday and Arizona on Friday.
