FACT CHECK: No, Donald Trump Did Not Pose Similarly To Hitler After Assassination Attempt
A recent social media post claims that a viral image from an assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump resembles one of Adolf Hitler. The post suggests that Trump intentionally imitated Hitler in the pose. However, a fact-check revealed that the image has been photoshopped, combining separate photos of Hitler and another man, which can be found on Getty Images. Additionally, the United Auto Workers (UAW) union has filed charges against Trump and Tesla CEO Elon Musk for threatening to fire striking workers, as reported by CNN. The image in question shows Trump with a bloodied face and a raised fist surrounded by Secret Service agents, echoing a similar pose of Hitler with his supporters. The claim that the image shows Trump imitating Hitler has been deemed false.
A photo shared on X claims a viral picture from the assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump shows that he imitated an image of Adolf Hitler.

Verdict: False
The image has been photoshopped. It combines separate images of Hitler and another man which can both be found on Getty Images.
Fact Check:
The United Auto Workers (UAW) union has filed charges against Trump and Tesla CEO Elon Musk after the pair made comments on Monday about threatening to fire workers who go on strike, according to CNN. UAW president Shawn Fain has been known as a Trump critic, having previously called him “a scab,” the outlet reported.
An X post allegedly shows Trump posing similarly to Hitler. On the right is a picture showing Trump with a bloodied face and a raised fist while surrounded by Secret Service agents, one of which is shielding him with her body. On the left appears to be a photo of Hitler raising his fist in a similar fashion with two people on each side of him, their poses resembling that of the Secret Service agents in the Trump picture.
“I thought that pic looked familiar. Trump posed it like his idol Adolf Hitler,” the caption reads.
The Hitler image has been photoshopped and is a combination of different images, however. The photo of Hitler raising his fist can be found on Getty Images and has been mirrored in the edited picture. The photo used of the other man can also be found on Getty. “Nazi Gauleiter of Berlin, Joseph Goebbels, giving a speech, with police and members of the SA in attendance, 1933,” its caption reads. Check Your Fact could not verify the identity of the woman pictured.
In the bottom right corner of the picture is text that says @PaulleyTicks, which corresponds with an X account. Although Check Your Fact was unable to locate the photoshopped image, this account has previously posted clearly edited content comparing Trump to Hitler. The claim was also debunked by Snopes and AFP Fact Check.
