Conservative super PAC’s $18 million ad blitz targets Harris’s social policies in swing states – Washington Examiner
The American Principles Project (APP), a conservative super PAC, has launched an $18 million ad campaign targeting Vice President Kamala Harris’s social policies in key swing states. The ads address controversial issues such as taxpayer-funded transgender surgeries for minors and the inclusion of biological males in women’s sports. One ad describes Harris as “Dangerously Liberal,” presenting claims that she supports these policies and the inclusion of sexually explicit content in elementary schools. Another ad features Laura Becker, a de-transitioner, who criticizes Harris’s stance on transgender issues and endorses former President Donald Trump, claiming his commitment to protecting children. A third ad, featuring swimmer Paula Scanlan, recounts her discomfort with sharing locker rooms with Lia Thomas, a transgender athlete, asserting that such policies undermine women’s rights. APP President Terry Schilling has accused the Biden-Harris administration of conducting a “destructive culture war” against American families, alleging that their policies threaten the rights of women and girls.
Conservative super PAC’s $18 million ad blitz targets Harris’s social policies in swing states
EXCLUSIVE — The American Principles Project super PAC’s $18 million ad blitz targeted Vice President Kamala Harris’s stances on social issues such as transgender surgeries for minors and girls’ sports in key swing states.
The APP describes itself as “one of the most effective and influential pro-family groups in Washington, DC,” advocating conservative social policy. Its super PAC showed the Washington Examiner three ads it is airing, targeting 7 million voters across seven swing states.
One ad derides Harris as “Dangerously Liberal,” with the narrator saying she backs taxpayer-funded transgender surgeries for minors and biological males who identify as female competing in women’s sports. The narrator also says she supports the inclusion of sexually explicit books in elementary school libraries, including blurred images of one such example.
Another, “They Were Wrong,” features de-transitioner Laura Becker bashing Harris’s stances on transgender people and praising former President Donald Trump.
“When I was 19 years old, doctors led me to believe that I was transgender,” Becker said. “I was told that hormones and surgeries were my only options — they were wrong. Now I suffer from irreversible changes to my body and mind that I will live with for the rest of my life.
“Today, Kamala Harris is pushing children into these procedures, limiting their choices later in life,” she continued. “That’s why I’m voting for Donald Trump because he’s committed to protecting children from these rash decisions.”
The other ad, “Dangerous,” featured University of Pennsylvania swimmer Paula Scanlan, who recalled her experience having to share a locker room and shower with Lia Thomas, a biological male who identifies as female.
“Nothing could have prepared me for showering with a man,” she said, alongside footage of Thomas. “As a woman, there is nothing more violating than being forced to compete with and share locker rooms with men.
“Dangerous Democrats like Kamala Harris support policies that would silence women like me and force us to compete against men,” Scanlan continued. “It’s just not fair.”
In a press statement announcing the ad campaign, APP PAC President Terry Schilling accused the Biden-Harris administration of “waging a destructive culture war on American families.”
“They have attacked the rights of women and girls, opening up female athletics and private spaces to biological males,” he said. “They have pushed gender ideology into schools, indoctrinating children into feeling uncomfortable with their bodies while keeping parents in the dark about their own kids’ distress.”
He targeted Democrats’ policies on transgender issues and diversity, equity, and inclusion, arguing that such pursuits have “corrupted” the healthcare system and other institutions.
“Although this radical agenda has clearly been a top priority of the current administration from Day One, it is immensely unpopular with the American people,” Schilling said. “Since 2020, everything we warned about back then—the destruction of girls’ sports, the predation on children by the transgender industry, and the evisceration of parental rights—has come to pass, with even worse dangers lurking should Kamala Harris ascend to the presidency.
“That’s why we will again be bringing our message to voters this year, to ensure Democrats’ horrific record will not go unchallenged,” he continued. “Unlike four years ago, 2024 will be a referendum on the awful consequences of the Biden-Harris regime, and this time they will not be able to deny reality.”
