Every Jewish Democrat in the House signed a joint statement issued Monday blasting media personality Tucker Carlson for interviewing Darryl Cooper, who’s been accused of being a Nazi apologist and Holocaust denier.

Rep. Seth Magaziner (D-RI) organized the joint statement.

“As Jewish Members of Congress, we are appalled that Tucker Carlson hosted and promoted
Nazi apologist and Holocaust denier Darryl Cooper on his podcast,” the statement said.

Democrats who also signed the statement include Reps. Elissa Slotkin (D-MI), Jerrold Nadler (D-NY), Jamie Raskin (D-MD), Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL), Jared Moskowitz (D-FL), and Adam Schiff (D-CA) among several others.

“Cooper made deeply troubling statements, including that the United States was on the ‘wrong side’ in the Second World War, and falsely claiming that millions of Jews in concentration camps ‘ended up dead’ only because the Nazis did not have the resources to care for them,” the statement said. “Not only did Carlson provide a platform for Cooper’s ignorance and hate to millions of viewers, he also promoted Cooper by calling him ‘the most important popular historian in the United States.’”

Democrats, in the letter, also blamed former President Donald Trump’s running mate, Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH), and X owner Elon Musk for failing to condemn Carlson.

“It is also concerning that Elon Musk called the discussion ‘very interesting’ in a post on his
platform X, and Republican Vice Presidential candidate J.D. Vance refused to condemn Carlson
for promoting Cooper when given the opportunity to do so. Acceptance of hateful ideologies by
people in power puts Jews and other targeted minorities across the world at great risk,” the letter said.

Vance declined to condemn Carlson but did blast Cooper indirectly.

“Senator Vance doesn’t believe in guilt-by-association cancel culture, but he obviously does not share the views of the guest interviewed by Tucker Carlson,” a Vance spokesman told Jewish Insider. “There are no stronger supporters of our allies in Israel or the Jewish community in America than Senator Vance and President Trump.”

“The normalization of Nazism is unacceptable and dangerous, and must be forcefully
condemned,” the statement concludes. “Americans deserve to know that their leaders will rebuke the cancers of antisemitism and Nazism whenever and wherever they appear.”

Jewish matters have been important to voters this election cycle, as indicated by several Democrats falling to primary challenges due to their stances on Israel. Sources told the outlet that the Trump campaign’s reaction to the Cooper interview could prove critical.
