Trump gets pushback from FCC chairwoman over ABC licensing comments – Washington Examiner
The article discusses the backlash faced by former President Donald Trump from Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel following his comments about ABC’s broadcasting license. After a debate with Vice President Kamala Harris, Trump criticized the network’s moderators, alleging bias against him, and called for ABC’s license to be revoked. In response, Rosenworcel stated that the FCC does not revoke licenses simply because a political candidate disagrees with the content or coverage. Trump expressed his frustration on Fox News, claiming that the moderators did not adequately fact-check Harris while being overly critical of him. He insisted that ABC’s handling of the debate warranted consequences.
Trump gets pushback from FCC chairwoman over post-debate ABC licensing comments
The Federal Communications Commission rebuffed former President Donald Trump for saying ABC’s license should be revoked after his debate on the network against Vice President Kamala Harris.
The FCC’s Democratic chairwoman declared Thursday that her agency would not pursue Trump’s request to “take away” ABC’s broadcasting license.
“The FCC does not revoke licenses for broadcast stations simply because a political candidate disagrees with or dislikes content or coverage,” Jessica Rosenworcel said in comments to the Washington Post.
Trump went on Fox News on Wednesday morning to express ire over how ABC moderators treated him during his first debate with Harris. The former president said David Muir and Linsey Davis displayed bias against him and tilted the prime-time affair in favor of Harris.
While he said the moderators “didn’t correct Harris “at all” about “debunked” stories, he told Fox News hosts that they fact-checked him on multiple points that he believed were “absolutely perfect.”
Trump said there should be repercussions for ABC’s “unfair debate.”
“They’re a news organization,” he said. “They have to be licensed to do it. They ought to take away their license for the way they did that.”

The same day, Trump declared that both moderators should be fired.
“They should fire everybody at ABC Fake News, whose two lightweight ‘anchors’ have brought disgrace onto the company!” the former president wrote in a post to Truth Social.
" Conservative News Daily does not always share or support the views and opinions expressed here; they are just those of the writer."
