The Secret Service is holding a press conference one day after the second attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump on Sunday.

The press conference, where officials are expected to give an update on the situation, is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. EDT.

The would-be assassin, Ryan Wesley Routh, was arrested Sunday after a Secret Service agent noticed him taking aim with an “AK-47 style rifle with a scope” in the bushes on the outskirts of the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida. Routh was detained on I-95 in Martin County while traveling north after he fled the scene.

Routh was charged with two federal gun charges: possession of a firearm by a prohibited person and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number. He made an initial appearance at a courthouse in West Palm Beach on Monday. Routh faces additional charges at the state level, and as the investigation continues, it is expected he will face additional federal charges.
