The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York is expected to hold a press conference related to specific charges against New York City Mayor Eric Adams at 11:30 a.m.

Thursday morning, prosecutors unveiled a five-count indictment of Adams on corruption charges.

The 57-page indictment charges Adams with one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, federal program bribery, and to receive campaign contributions by foreign nationals, one count of wire fraud, two counts of solicitation of a contribution by a foreign national, and one count of bribery.

Adams became the first sitting mayor in the city’s history to be indicted Wednesday night, sending the Big Apple into a period of uncertainty. Thursday morning, agents raided his home and seized his phone, according to his lawyer.

Despite the indictment, Adams maintained his innocence and said he would not step down.

“I will fight these injustices with every ounce of my strength and my spirit,” he said in a video message after the indictment was announced.
