Walz Refuses To Deny Supporting Abortion Throughout Pregnancy
In a recent vice presidential debate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, a Democrat, was questioned about his stance on abortion, particularly regarding the legality of late-term abortions throughout all nine months of pregnancy. Walz, who has previously signed legislation allowing for abortion at any stage, did not directly deny endorsing such practices when asked whether he supports abortion in the ninth month. Instead, he deflected by stating that this was not specified in the bill, while also expressing his discontent with the Supreme Court’s ruling in *Dobbs v. Jackson*. His governance has led to significant reductions in restrictions around abortion in Minnesota, including the removal of waiting periods and parental consent for minors. The article highlights previous instances where newborns who survived botched abortions were left to die and notes Walz’s past support for abortion rights in Congress. Despite failing to give a clear answer during the debate, Walz’s abortion stance is characterized as extreme, aligning with broader Democratic positions on abortion rights as the party heads into the 2024 election cycle.
Minnesota Democrat Gov. Tim Walz, whose state is recognized as one of the most extreme in the union on abortion, did not deny supporting ending life in the womb through all nine months of pregnancy when asked during the vice presidential debate on Tuesday night.
As governor, Walz signed legislation allowing abortion throughout pregnancy regardless of gestation into law. When the CBS News propagandists masquerading as moderators asked him if he believed “abortion in the ninth month is absolutely fine,” however, Walz refused to deny it.
“That’s not what the bill says,” Walz insisted, before pivoting to lament the Supreme Court’s Dobbs v. Jackson decision.
Thanks to the stroke of Walz’s pen, Minnesota not only allows abortion until birth but has effectively eliminated safeguards for women and babies such as waiting periods, prohibitions on certain parties performing abortions, funding for crisis pregnancy centers, and parental consent for minors seeking abortions.
Walz often boasts that his state was the “first state to take legislative action to put these protections in place.” During the Democratic National Convention, he even bragged that Minnesota “protected reproductive freedom” and followed a “golden rule: Mind your own d-mn business.”
It was under the Democrat, however, that three babies in 2019 and five babies in 2021 who survived botched abortions were illegally left to die. Instead of addressing the dangerous and fatal consequences of his state’s abortion allowances, Walz signed a 2023 omnibus bill that effectively nuked the reporting requirements detailing the number of babies who survive abortions and deceitfully reworked the language to support the barbaric practice.
Walz may have failed to answer directly whether he supports abortion through every stage of pregnancy, but what he believes about ending life in the womb is no secret.
The man who “stands with Planned Parenthood” used his time in Congress to deny care to babies born alive after botched abortions and repeatedly opposed laws banning gruesome late-term and taxpayer-funded abortions.
Walz’s abortion beliefs are so radical that he claims former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi asked him to “tone it down.”
He is in company with the Democratic presidential nominee leading his 2024 ticket, who refused during her faceoff with former President Donald Trump to say whether she supports killing unborn babies through all nine months, despite her history of embracing unpopular abortion extremism.
