The appearance continues the Harris campaign’s push to amass women voters, focusing on abortion as one of the top issues in the race for the White House.
In 2020, President Joe Biden won the female vote over former President Donald Trump 55%-44%, according to Pew Research, while a recent poll from the Hill and Emerson College shows Harris leading Trump with women 56.1%-42.9%.
Harris, who would become the first female president, has focused much of her campaign on championing several issues important to female voters but has not emphasized the history her election would create, a contrast to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s failed 2016 presidential bid.
