Former President Donald Trump surprised country music artist Jason Aldean’s fans with a video appearance that played before his concert in Macon, Georgia, on Sunday, encouraging them to vote amid the “trouble” in America and promising he would soon be “changing it around.”
In the video, Trump referenced an over $7 million fundraiser he authorized on behalf of those affected by Hurricane Helene, including those in Georgia who were in its path. The natural disaster has left over 200 dead and 2,000 missing. Its victims have been critical of the Biden administration’s response.
“I hope everybody is having an incredible time with the great Jason Aldean, a friend of mine and a real pal. You’re in beautiful Macon. I love Macon. We took it by a lot. I wish I could be there myself and listen to that incredible music. Jason has really been a true American patriot, one of the greatest entertainers of our time,” Trump said in a video. “Every day, his music inspires countless hard-working, God-fearing citizens all across our nation. You are the men and women who carry this nation on your shoulders, and you are the heart and soul of America, and nobody is going to say any different.”

Then, Trump took a moment to remind the crowd that the day marked a month until the election, where he is running for president against Vice President Kamala Harris. He encouraged everyone to vote.
“Our economy, our border, our safety, our freedom, it’s all in trouble. It’s bad,” Trump said. “We’re changing it around.”
During the concert, Aldean expressed his hope that Trump will win in November. He presented a giant check to represent all the money raised for hurricane victims.
“Last night, we presented $7,039,604 for the victims of hurricane Helene,” Aldean wrote on Instagram Monday, reflecting on the concert. “Thank you to everyone who donated to [Donald Trump’s] go fund me over the last 5 days.”
Aldean dedicated his hit “Try That in a Small Town” to Trump shortly after the first attempted assassination against the former president in July. The country music star then made an appearance at the Republican National Convention, where Trump was made the party’s presidential nominee.
Trump also organized a fundraiser for the family of Corey Comperatore, the man shot and killed by the gunman in Pennsylvania. They were able to raise over $6.6 million on his behalf.
