Bill Clinton to campaign for Harris in battleground states

Former President Bill Clinton will campaign for Vice President Kamala Harris’s bid for the White House through several swing states, according to a report.

The former president will hit campaign stops through Georgia and North Carolina, according to CNN, targeting rural voters and younger black men, two demographics Harris has been struggling with.

Clinton will hit counties won by former President Donald Trump in previous bids. Clinton won Georgia in 1992, and returning to the swing state could spark a reconnection with his former base that can draw votes from Trump.

“He’s the perfect messenger to make the case that Kamala Harris would fix inflation and finish getting the economy back on track,” one person connected with Clinton said. “So he’s saddling up, returning to his roots, and meeting people where they are to ask for their help electing her.”

Clinton’s campaigning in North Carolina will depend on how recovery efforts go in the wake of Hurricane Milton, which made landfall Wednesday night.

Clinton will focus on the economy and recycle parts from his convention speech about how he is still younger than Trump, according to the report.
