Chris Wallace suggests Kamala Harris has yet to ‘close the sale’ with voters – Washington Examiner

Chris ⁤Wallace, a former ‍Fox News host, recently stated that Vice President Kamala Harris needs to better engage with voters to “close the sale” as they approach⁢ Election Day. He highlighted that Harris, despite a strong⁤ start to her campaign, has not⁣ effectively answered voters’ lingering questions about her ‍policies and identity. After initially avoiding media interviews, her recent media⁤ strategy seems to have created some visibility, ⁣but Wallace believes more clarity and connection with voters are needed. He noted that the race remains tight, particularly ‌in swing states, suggesting Harris must regain ‌momentum to ensure her effectiveness as a candidate.

Chris Wallace recommended Vice President Kamala Harris learn to “close the sale” while on the campaign trail.

Harris has three weeks until Election Day and has only been on the campaign trail for three months. During the first month, Harris did not give a single interview to a member of the media. Following her debate against Trump in September, she reversed her media strategy and appeared on many programs, but Wallace implied that voters are still left with “questions.”

“I think that the race right now obviously is within the margin of error, very close nationally, very close in those seven swing states. I will say that I think that Kamala Harris had a fantastic launch, and really it went from the time that she became the nominee, the convention, the debate — which was, I thought, a shutout she pitched against Donald Trump,” the host of CNN’s Who’s talking to Chris Wallace? said on The View on Tuesday. “It feels to me like she has plateaued, and she has to find a way to kind of close the sale, close the sale about what she would do and who she is because I think people still have questions about that.”

An NBC News poll published on Oct. 13 reported a tie between Harris and former President Donald Trump, with each at 48%, with a margin of error of plus or minus 3.1 points. Four percent of respondents reported they remain undecided.

Harris has enlisted former Democratic Presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama to help her campaign. First lady Jill Biden has also helped on the campaign in the swing states of Arizona and Pennsylvania.

In the past week, Harris’s running mate, Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN), toured the country for rallies, direct voter engagement events, fundraisers, and two national TV interviews.

Wallace has been promoting his new book, Countdown 1960, about the presidential race that year.
