After Denouncing ‘Disinformation,’ Harris Lies About Trump

During a recent audio town⁢ hall hosted by Charlamagne Tha God, ⁢Vice President Kamala Harris made ⁤several controversial statements‍ regarding former President Donald Trump. She accused him of intending to ‍”terminate the Constitution,” a claim described as a distortion of Trump’s remarks following ⁣revelations about‍ social media companies suppressing speech during the 2020 election. Trump’s actual statement suggested that⁣ alleged election fraud warranted reevaluation of the election process, not a call for constitutional dismantling.

Harris ‌also asserted⁣ multiple inaccuracies about the January ‌6 Capitol riots, including⁢ claims that ⁤Trump⁢ incited violence and that numerous law enforcement‍ officers were killed as a result of the events. In reality, reports indicate ⁣that no police officers died on that day or in the aftermath. She referenced Trump’s alleged comments about a “bloodbath” after the election, which he meant‌ in ⁢the⁤ context of job losses in the auto industry, not violence.⁢ Additionally, she reiterated a debunked claim that‌ Trump referred to military‍ members as “suckers and losers,” originating from an article based on‌ anonymous ‍sources, which has been widely ‍contested.

Her statements largely went unchallenged during the town hall, prompting criticism for⁣ spreading misinformation and failing to engage with the⁢ nuances of⁢ Trump’s actual⁢ positions and remarks.

Vice President Kamala Harris is spreading “disinformation” again. She told some whoppers Tuesday during an audio town hall hosted by media personality Charlamagne Tha God and was never challenged.

At one point during the town hall, Harris said of Trump, “The man has told you he intends to terminate the Constitution.” Not quite, madam vice president.

In December 2022, shortly after Elon Musk released Twitter records showing social media companies suppressed Americans’ speech during the 2020 election at the requests of federal officials, Trump took to his Truth Social and posed a question.

“With the revelation of MASSIVE & WIDESPREAD FRAUD & DECEPTION in working closely with Big Tech Companies, the DNC & the Democrat Party, do you throwh the Presidential Election results of 2020 OUT and declare the RIGHTFUL WINNER, or do you have a NEW Election?” Trump posted.

This next part set off a series of news stories in 2022, stretching Trump’s comment out of proportion: “A Massive Fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution,” Trump wrote. “Our great ‘Founders’ did not want, and would not condone, False & Fraudulent Elections!”

Trump was not calling for the Constitution to be dismantled, but saying that the government’s actions that employ Twitter as a censorship tool dismantle the U.S. Constitution. The post is a defense of the Constitution, not a call for its “termination.”

Claiming Trump intends to terminate the Constitution is a clearly inaccurate read of the post. That “disinformation” Harris is always crowing about? There it is.

Lying is like eating potato chips to Harris. She can’t tell just one. A caller to the town hall asked Harris, “Will our military be there to fight for our freedom after the election should Trump start another insurrection?”

Let’s count how many propaganda points she drops in her answer.

“Jan. 6, Donald Trump incited a violent mob [misinformation] to try and undo the will of the people and undo the results of the free and fair election [misinformation]. That violent mob attacked the United States Capitol [misinformation]. Over 140 law enforcement officers were injured, some of them were killed [misinformation]. And he has said since then that there will be a bloodbath after this election [misinformation]. He has … referred to members of our military as suckers and losers [misinformation].”

Harris packed at least six unchallenged lies in that paragraph. Charlamagne did not challenge any of them.

On Jan. 6, 2021, in a speech Trump told his supporters to walk “peacefully” to the Capitol, and when things got out of hand, he told them to go home. They were there to show support for Trump and to encourage Congress to take a closer look at election results before certifying the election.

Four people died on Jan. 6, and all were Trump supporters. Of those, two had heart attacks; one, Ashli Babbitt was shot by a Capitol Police officer; and another, Rosanne Boyland, was crushed under the weight of a panicked crowd, then while still breathing, she was beaten by a police officer. The cause of her death is disputed.

No police officers died on Jan. 6 or because of the events that day. This is a heinous lie repeated so often that many voters believe it.

Harris moved seamlessly from that lie some of her old standbys. “He has said … there will be a bloodbath after this election,” Harris disinformed.

That claim again takes Trump’s words completely out of context. In March, Trump warned that if President Joe Biden were reelected, it would be a “bloodbath” for auto industry workers, as auto makers were mulling moving manufacturing to Mexico. He meant many job losses, not violence and gore in the streets. It’s surprising Harris is not smart enough to understand his meaning. Maybe she doesn’t understand how talking works.

Right after that, Harris dropped this old chestnut: “He has…referred to members of our military as suckers and losers.” Federalist Editor-in-Chief Mollie Hemingway dismantles that 2021 lie in her book, Rigged.

The lie started with a bogus article in The Atlantic by Editor in Chief, Jeffrey Goldberg, based entirely on anonymous sources and contradicted by multiple eyewitnesses on the record, Hemingway reported. Trump canceled a visit to the Aisne-Marne American Cemetery near Paris in 2018 because weather prevented the helicopter from taking him, and the Secret Service would not drive the route to the cemetery.

The Atlantic article said Trump skipped the visit because he didn’t want the rain to mess up his hair and he didn’t believe it was important to honor American war dead. The article reported Trump saying, “Why should I go to that cemetery? It’s filled with losers.”

“Actual sources who were part of the discussion spoke on the record,” Hemingway wrote in Rigged. “Former White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said the story was ‘BS,’ adding, ‘I was actually there and one of the people part of the discussion—this never happened.’”

Sanders was not the only person who debunked the Atlantic story. Yet the lie picked up steam in 2021, and Harris and President Joe Biden continue to spread this disinformation today.

The suckers and losers lie surely hit hard in the heart of veterans when they first heard it. But liars don’t care about hurting the feelings of the people damaged by their words. Anyone who is willing to smear veterans just to attack a political challenger does not care about veterans, nor understand the solemn sacrifice represented in veteran graves.

Harris’ fibs are so obvious that it should be a natural to call her out, but with a cooperative media, the disinformation goes unchecked. The lengthy interview was broadcast on iHeartMedia and CNN.

Maybe interviewers don’t fact check Harris because it is exhausting to keep up. But every time her lies go unchecked, it damages America. Uninformed voters believe her. Lazy media repeat the lies. History is rewritten. And time that could be spent talking about policy plans is wasted on fake news.
