Trump recently came under fire for saying, “Our whole country will end up being like Detroit if she’s the president,” while he was in Detroit speaking to the Detroit Economic Club, referring to Vice President Kamala Harris.

“You’re gonna have a mess on your hands,” Harris mocked Trump in her prerecorded video at the Al Smith dinner, remarking that offending Catholics there would be “like criticizing Detroit in Detroit.”

According to RealClearPolitics’s polling average in the state, Trump leads by about a point, 48.3% to 47.4%. Detroit is Michigan’s largest city.
