Harris ignores ‘kitchen table issues’ for celebrity appearances: Tiana Lowe Doescher – Washington Examiner

In ⁤a⁢ commentary for the Washington Examiner, writer Tiana Lowe Doescher critiques Vice President Kamala Harris’s campaign strategy, which has heavily‍ involved ⁤celebrity appearances. She refers to this approach as “questionable,” citing past Democratic failures when celebrities supported candidates, specifically referencing Hillary Clinton’s campaign. Doescher argues that focusing on “kitchen⁤ table issues” is ⁤crucial for connecting‌ with voters, ‍rather than relying solely on high-profile endorsements from stars like‌ Lizzo to generate interest‍ and turnout. This perspective raises ⁢concerns about the effectiveness of ⁣Harris’s current campaign tactics.

Harris ignores ‘kitchen table issues’ for celebrity appearances: Tiana Lowe Doescher

Washington Examiner commentary writer Tiana Lowe Doescher called Vice President Kamala Harris’s star-studded campaign stops a “questionable strategy.”

While appearing on Your World with Neil Cavuto, Doescher noted that celebrities stumping with Hillary Clinton did not make for a Democratic win.

“It’s a questionable strategy for her to ignore the kitchen table issues and instead hope that Lizzo brings out the votes,” Doescher said.

Harris’s campaign has recently recruited celebrity appearances from Oprah Winfrey, Bruce Springsteen, and Lizzo. Former President Barack Obama and Beyonce are also expected to join the vice president in the closing days of her 2024 quest for the presidency.

“If you look at a lot of stars she is bringing out they are the Boomers she’s doing somewhat well with,” Doescher noted.

“The economy remains the No. 1 issue and most of these voters, especially the young voters that Harris is lagging way far behind,” Doescher added. “They’ve never experienced this kind of inflation before and it’s why it’s really a questionable strategy.”

Recent polling data suggest that more voters trust former President Donald Trump over Harris to protect democracy, with the former president ahead by 3 percentage points.
