Trump makes closing pitch to young voters in Pennsylvania college town – Washington Examiner
Former President Donald Trump delivered a speech to a crowd of students in State College, Pennsylvania, as he made his final appeal to young voters ahead of the upcoming election. Emphasizing key campaign issues like inflation, the economy, immigration, and energy policy, Trump tailored his message to the concerns of younger voters, stating, “I am in this fight for you.” He aimed to connect with first-time voters by highlighting his commitment to their future and contrasting his policies with those of his opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris. Trump criticized Harris, asserting that she would jeopardize the economy and the country while promising a better future for young people if he were elected, underscoring his record in foreign policy and a desire for peace without engaging in prolonged wars.

Speaking to a crowd filled with students from the nearby state university in State College, Pennsylvania, former President Donald Trump made his closing pitch to young voters as the election cycle is set to end in 10 days.
In remarks that featured many of the same election issues Trump has focused on the campaign trail, including inflation and the economy, immigration, and American energy policy, he tailored parts of his speech to relate to young voters’ concerns, emphasizing, “I am in this fight for you.”
“For all the young people here at Penn State and across America who may be voting for the first time, I want you to know that I am in this fight for you. I didn’t need this, I had a nice life,” Trump said.
He then directed attacks at his opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris, specifically on the economy.
“Kamala Harris will destroy your inheritance, but much more importantly, she’s gonna destroy your country. If you vote for me, I will ensure that you begin your careers, young people, in a roaring economy and a time of unprecedented peace and prosperity,” Trump said.
Trump then pointed to his foreign policy record, saying that he would not send soldiers to fight in a “foolish, never-ending foreign war.”
“You don’t have to send your kids out to war, have your kid blown up for a country that you’ve never heard of and that doesn’t want anything to do with you anyway. But I will not send you to fight and die in a foolish, never-ending foreign war,” he said.
Trump also briefly discussed education, saying, “I’ll get you out of the wokeness and your schools will be great again. Your schools are going to be great.”
His remarks in State College included multiple shoutouts to the Pennsylvania State University wrestling team, whom Trump called to the stage.
One team member addressed the crowd, saying, “It’s truly an honor to be here. Thank you for recognizing us. Pennsylvania’s a super important state. We need to win this election. Let’s make America great again. Go vote.”
The latest polling from RealClearPoitics shows Trump leading Harris by less than 1 percentage point in the state, 48.3% to 47.7%.
