Vance made these remarks during appearances on podcasts, expressing that Harris’s laughter appears insincere, which he believes is meant to alleviate moments of awkwardness or discomfort caused by serious issues. The conversation then shifted to the endorsements of Harris by former Vice President Dick Cheney and his daughter Liz Cheney, highlighting her efforts to attract disaffected Republican voters, particularly those who oppose Trump. The discussion included sarcastic comments about the Cheney family, generating laughter from Vance and his co-host.

Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) explained that Vice President Kamala Harris‘s laugh is ridiculed because it seems “very fraudulent.”
There is just over a week left until Election Day, and as former President Donald Trump’s vice presidential pick, Vance has made several media appearances in recent days, including the podcasts of comedians Theo Von and Tim Dillon. While on The Tim Dillon Show, in an episode that aired Saturday, Vance expressed how he finds Harris’s laugh “off-putting.”
“I’ve tried to like put my finger on what is about Kamala Harris’s like the very fraudulent laugh that I find so off-putting,” Vance said. “It’s like the laugh of somebody who just made you really uncomfortable, but then tries to overcorrect by saying, ‘Oh I’m gonna laugh at and that somehow is going make it better that I just like stepped on your foot or ran into your car.’”
“Or bankrupted the country,” Dillon piped in.
“Or bankrupted, all shapes and sizes of problems,” Vance said.
The pair then turned their attention to the recent endorsements by former Vice President Dick Cheney and his daughter Liz for Harris. Harris resorted to garnering disaffected Republican voters by campaigning alongside the former representative. Liz Cheney served as the House Republican Conference chairwoman but vocally opposed Trump.
“I love Dick Cheney and the whole Cheney family,” Dillon said sarcastically, inducing a laugh from Vance. “To me, when I think about democracy, I personally think about Dick Cheney. He’s a figure from my childhood that I love and respect. Some of the greatest years of my life: Iraq, Abu Ghraib, Dick Cheney. Shoutout to Dick Cheney and Liz.”
Dillon was referring to the war in Iraq and the subsequent prison, Abu Ghraib, which was outside of Baghdad, where as many as 3,800 prisoners were tortured between the years 2003 and 2006.
“If you really care about democracy and human rights, Dick Cheney is your guy,” Vance added sarcastically.
Vance went on to suggest jokingly that Dillon was speaking so highly of the Cheneys in order to ensure that his home wasn’t visited by a “drone.”
While Vance and Trump have appeared on these comedian’s podcasts, including that of Joe Rogan, Harris has yet to make similar appearances. She did take an interview from Call Her Daddy host Alex Cooper weeks ago as the first politician to appear on the show.
