Elon Musk: Kamala Harris Will ‘Shut Down’ X If Elected President

The‌ article discusses Elon Musk’s predictions regarding Kamala Harris potentially shutting down the social media ‌platform ⁤X (formerly known as Twitter) if she is elected⁣ president. During an appearance on⁤ Joe Rogan’s podcast, Musk expressed concerns‌ that Harris would use the Justice Department to target the platform, citing her administration’s possible ‍alignment with disinformation groups like the Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH). He ‍argued that current boycotts against X ‍might ease if Donald Trump is re-elected but would likely intensify under a Harris presidency.

Musk ⁢criticized the government’s tactics, suggesting they could claim “misinformation” ⁣as a ⁣pretext for legal action against X, noting that such practices already occur, as evidenced by ongoing lawsuits against companies like SpaceX. He likened the government’s⁣ approach⁣ to ⁢a quote by Soviet‌ official Lavrentiy Beria, asserting that authorities could fabricate charges once they select a target. This conversation aligns with Rogan’s⁤ recent endorsement of Trump, where he echoed Musk’s views, prompting discussions about the implications of political power on free speech.

X owner Elon Musk predicted on Monday that Kamala Harris will weaponize the Justice Department to shut down the free speech platform if elected president this week. The moment came during the SpaceX founder’s appearance on comedian Joe Rogan’s podcast.

During the interview, Musk referenced the U.K.-based “disinformation” group known as the Center for Countering Digitial Hate (CCDH) and its attempts to, as the billionaire described, “push[] … advertisers to boycott [X].” As my colleague Tristan Justice previously reported, CCDH is “integral to the left’s dystopian censorship regime” and colluded with NBC News in 2020 “to pressure Google into demonetizing The Federalist and Zero Hedge.”

Musk said that “some of the boycott[s]” against X are “starting to lift,” and predicted that “most” of them will go away if Donald Trump is elected president. He further noted that the boycotts “will get stronger” if Harris wins and that her administration would “shut down [X].”

“There’s no way that the Kamala puppet regime would allow X to exist,” Musk said.

When pressed by Rogan on how he thinks a Harris administration could accomplish such a feat, the Tesla CEO suggested they could “sic the DOJ” on X by citing so-called “misinformation.”

“They’ve had this whole thing about like hate speech, misinformation, whatever, except that they’re the ones pushing the misinformation,” Musk said. “But that doesn’t stop them from filing massive lawsuits and using the DOJ.”

As an example, Musk cited how the DOJ is currently suing SpaceX “for not hiring asylum seekers, even though it is illegal for SpaceX to hire anyone who is not a permanent resident of the U.S.”

“But it doesn’t even make any sense logically. Like how could it even get brought to court if it’s illegal?” Rogan asked.

“Exactly. So that’s what I mean. Like basically if the government wants to go after you, they’ll just find a reason,” Musk said.

The X owner cited a famous quote by Joseph Stalin’s secret police chief Lavrentiy Beria, who once said, “Show me the man and I’ll show you the crime.”

“They decide that you’re the target and then they figure out the crime afterwards. That’s the issue. They decided SpaceX was the target. They just figured out the crime afterwards,” Musk said.

“Which is so crazy because that’s exactly what they’re saying Trump is going to do if he gets into office,” Rogan said, to which Musk replied, “They’re doing all the things that they accused Trump of doing.”

Musk and Rogan’s conversation was released the same day the latter officially endorsed Trump for president. In a tweet posted Monday night, Rogan wrote, “[Elon] makes what I think is the most compelling case for Trump you’ll hear, and I agree with him every step of the way. For the record, yes, that’s an endorsement of Trump.”
