Likely Trump Cabinet pick says staffing will prioritize ‘highly competent loyalists’ – Washington Examiner

Mike Davis, a likely candidate ⁤for a Cabinet position in a potential second Trump administration, emphasized that staffing will focus on “highly competent loyalists.” Following Donald Trump’s recent ⁣electoral victory, attention has shifted to ⁢potential appointees, with Davis suggesting that political appointments should demonstrate both loyalty and competence. He stated that those seeking positions ⁤should provide concrete evidence of their loyalty to Trump, indicating a ‍prioritization of trust and alignment with the former president’s agenda. This approach aims to address past complaints from Trump’s first ⁤administration regarding disloyalty hindering progress. Davis’s remarks reflect a broader strategy outlined in Project 2025, underscoring the importance⁤ of ⁣loyalty in Trump’s political circle.

Likely Trump Cabinet pick says staffing will prioritize ‘highly competent loyalists’

Possible Trump Cabinet pick Mike Davis said staffing for the second Trump administration would prioritize “highly competent loyalists.”

Following President-elect Donald Trump‘s crushing victory last week, the focus has shifted to who will man his second administration. Davis, who has been floated as a likely pick for attorney general, told Politico that loyalty and competence would be the central traits for all new staffers.

“Dear Trump Job Seekers: Long time, no chat,” Davis wrote in a post on X after Trump’s electoral victory. “Before asking me for help, I am going to ask you to provide me specific and concrete evidence of your łoyalty to Trump. If you cannot provide a lot of that, stop asking me. Political appointments require both competency and loyalty.”

Staffing was a consistent complaint from the first Trump administration, with many Trump loyalists viewing disloyalty as a main impediment to Trump’s agenda.

A central part of Project 2025, though not affiliated with the Trump campaign, was providing a network of possible loyalist staffers. The ensuing controversy around the project has left usage of the network uncertain.

Davis has promised much if he is a Trump Cabinet pick, vowing in an interview with conservative influencer Benny Johnson to “rain hell on Washington, D.C.”

“I have five lists ready to go, and they’re growing. List No. 1 — we’re gonna fire. We’re gonna fire a lot of people in the executive branch of the deep state,” he said. “No. 2 — we’re gonna indict. We’re gonna indict Joe Biden and Hunter Biden and James Biden and every other scumball, sleazeball Biden, except for the 5-year-old granddaughter who they refused to acknowledge for five years until political pressure got to Joe Biden.”

Davis then promised to deport over 10 million people and pardon the Jan. 6 riot defendants.

However, the possible attorney general pick has said many of his statements are only trolling, being dubbed by Politico Trump’s “troll-in-chief.”
