Mark Cuban taking break from politics after stumping for Kamala Harris – Washington Examiner
Billionaire Mark Cuban has announced that he will take a break from political commentary following his support for Vice President Kamala Harris’s campaign, which ended in a loss to President-elect Donald Trump in the 2024 election. In a post on the social media platform Bluesky, Cuban advised followers not to expect any political speculation from him for the time being but indicated that there would be much to discuss in the future. Cuban faced mixed reactions on Bluesky, with some users criticizing his involvement in the campaign and others supporting his decision to take a step back to reflect. Throughout the campaign, he was notably active, participating in rallies and media interviews, but ended up in hot water for comments suggesting that women associated with Trump were ”weak and dumb.”

Billionaire Mark Cuban shared that he will be stepping away from political commentary “for a while” after he campaigned for Vice President Kamala Harris, who lost to President-elect Donald Trump in the 2024 election.
“Just an FYI. Don’t expect any politics or speculation about what might happen for a while. I’m sure there will be plenty to comment on when the time comes,” he wrote on the social media platform Bluesky.
Bluesky users responded to Cuban’s post.
“Mark, you helped her deliver the White House to Trump. Please stay out of politics,” one person wrote on the platform.
“Honestly, that’s good. While we can’t ignore it forever, a break right now to regroup, reevaluate, and reground ourselves is needed,” another person said.
The Shark Tank star was one of the most active surrogates for Harris, speaking at rallies around the country and doing media interviews.
Cuban stepped in controversy in the final weeks of the Harris campaign when he made the suggestion that women around Trump were weak and dumb.
“Donald Trump, you never see him around strong, intelligent women. Ever,” Cuban said during an appearance on ABC’s The View. “It’s just that simple. They’re intimidating to him. He doesn’t like to be challenged by them and, you know, Nikki Haley will call him on his nonsense with reproductive rights and how he sees and treats and talks about women. I mean, he just can’t have her around. It wouldn’t work.”
The comments went viral and set off a slew of social media posts of numerous Trump-supporting women responding to Cuban on social media with their disdain of his criticism.
Cuban later attempted to clarify and apologize for his comments.
“I would probably just add that I’m only speaking to the point that I haven’t seen [Trump] side-by-side on the campaign trail with women I consider strong and intelligent. Like Nikki Haley, Kellyanne [Conway] and Tulsi [Gabbard], among others,” he said.
When Trump won the election last week, the billionaire congratulated Trump and Musk for their win.
“Congrats @realDonaldTrump,” Cuban wrote on X. “You won fair and square. Congrats to @elonmusk as well.”
