The View expected to bring a ‘pro-Trump perspective’ – Washington Examiner
The article discusses the anticipated changes at “The View” following Donald Trump’s significant win in the popular vote. ABC is reportedly reevaluating its casting choices to include voices that align more closely with Trump’s supporters, a response to pressure from network executives. Current panelists have previously endorsed Kamala Harris, but sources indicate that viewers should expect major changes, including the introduction of new panelists who can provide a pro-Trump perspective. The show’s ratings have also seen a notable increase, peaking at 4.47 million viewers, the highest in over a decade.
The View expected to bring a ‘pro-Trump perspective’
The View is anticipating a casting change to reflect President-elect Donald Trump‘s supporters.
ABC is reportedly reevaluating its casting choices a week after Trump’s sweeping win of the popular vote. Meanwhile, current panelists had endorsed Trump’s opponent Kamala Harris.
“The View is facing pressure from higher-ups,” a source told the New York Post. “Viewers can expect some major changes including bringing in new panelists that can bring in a pro-Trump perspective.”
This comes after The View garnered 4.47 million viewers, the highest number of viewers the show has had in over 10 years, for its episode after Election Day. That week, The View averaged 3.078 million viewers, as the most-watched show among news and talk shows scheduled during the day.
While it is, on the whole, a talk show, The View falls under the ABC News division. However, its news programs are lagging behind in ratings when compared to other news networks. Throughout weekday prime time, Fox News Channel reported 5.4 million viewers during the week of the Nov. 5 election. Fox beats ABC in total viewership and in the 25-54 younger demographic.
The View happened to air some of the worst blunders from Harris and her campaign surrogates. Harris was answering a question from host Sunny Hostin when she suggested she wouldn’t change anything about how President Joe Biden ran the country. Mark Cuban was also on The View when he suggested that Trump chooses not to surround himself with “strong, intelligent women.”
