Multiple Democrats have spoken against Trump and Homan’s planned deportations, with Tuscon, Arizona, Mayor Regina Romero being among the latest to call them “cruel and immoral.” Homan, however, was perplexed over her comments, questioning, “What’s cruel about it?”

“We got children dying on the border every day,” Homan said on Fox News’s The Ingraham Angle. “We got women being sexually assaulted by the cartels every day. Someone is going to die on the border tonight. Women are being raped on the border tonight. So what’s cruel about securing that border and saving lives, first of all? But I’ll give her the same warning I’ve given the rest of the sanctuary city mayors and the governors: you can not help us. That’s fine. You should get the hell out of the way, then, ’cause we’re going to do the job.”

Homan then reiterated the priority of these deportations will be for illegal immigrants who are threats to public safety and national security, adding that he “can’t believe” there are officials opposed to deporting them since protecting the public is “their No. 1 responsibility.” He also warned against harboring illegal immigrants from Immigration and Customs Enforcement, as doing so is a felony.

“And we got one hell of an attorney general coming in, Pam Bondi. I think she’ll read that statute the same way I do it,” Homan said. “I’m not a lawyer, but I can read, and we’re going to have consequences of people violating the law and try to prevent us from doing our job.”

During his appearance, Homan detailed his recent visit to the southern border, stating that morale was previously “in the toilet,” but now Border Patrol members are excited about Trump’s inauguration. Ahead of January 2025, Homan discussed how he and Gov. Greg Abbott (R-TX) are already planning how to finish Texas’s plans to secure the border.

On Tuesday, Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-TX) confirmed that he had spoken to Homan about an in-person meeting, believing that he could reach “common ground” with the incoming “border czar.” He also said that while he does not see eye-to-eye on everything with Homan, he can agree on the need to “quickly” deport criminals.

Meanwhile, Denver Mayor Mike Johnston is among the Democrats who have vocalized their opposition to Trump’s planned deportations, arguing the city would continue to be “welcoming.” Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), however, has cautioned Johnston that his resistance is “a form of insurrection,” as the mayor’s opposition could be taken to the Supreme Court, and he could even be removed from office.

Homan has similarly warned Johnston against resisting these deportations, stating he is “willing to put him in jail.”
