In the aftermath of the devastation caused by the storm, Trump repeatedly made false claims, accusing President Joe Biden of playing political games with disaster relief.
Stein, who is currently finishing his term as North Carolina’s attorney general, defeated controversial GOP Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson last month in the gubernatorial race. Stein will succeed Gov. Roy Cooper (D-NC), who is term-limited.
