Warren sent a letter to Trump questioning whether he had put ethics rules in place for dealing with Musk’s governmental work as the X executive plans to co-lead the Department of Government Efficiency.

“Mr. Musk’s substantial private interests present a massive conflict of interest with the role he has taken on as your ‘unofficial co-president,’” Warren said in the letter to Trump. “Currently, the American public has no way of knowing whether the advice that he is whispering to you in secret is good for the country— or merely good for his own bottom line.”

Warren said Musk needs to “resolve his conflicts of interest if he wishes to continue serving as a top adviser to you and your transition team.”

The billionaire has numerous companies, including Tesla, SpaceX, and X.

Warren called Musk Trump’s “unofficial co-president” in the letter and said that some of his companies have government contracts or receive “indirect government support.”

Musk responded to the letter with AI-generated social media posts showing Warren in Native American headdresses, mocking her past claims that she had Native American heritage in her family.

He admitted that he used X’s AI feature called “Grok” to generate the images.

Social media users laughed at the humorous posts.

“A certain US Senator who lied about being a Native American to get a job at Harvard?” one X user asked.

“I am sure Pocahontas is very pleased with Native Americans swinging in favor of Donald Trump in the 2024 election,” another X user quipped.

Musk has long sparred with Warren on social media and in the media. In 2021, he referred to her as “Senator Karen” for questioning him about his taxes.

Trump transition spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt defended Musk and mocked Warren, “President Trump has assembled the most impressive and qualified team of innovators, entrepreneurs, and geniuses to advise and staff our government. Pocahontas can play political games and send toothless letters, but the Trump-Vance transition will continue to be held to the highest ethical and legal standards possible — a standard unfamiliar to a career politician whose societal impact is 1/1024th of Elon Musk’s.”
