Trump kicks off inauguration weekend with fireworks
President-elect Donald Trump started his weekend in Washington, D.C., with a fireworks display over the Potomac River.
On Monday, Trump will be inaugurated as the 47th president of the United States. The days leading up to the ceremony are filled with star-studded events.

Trump arrived at Dulles International Airport Saturday night to attend a reception dinner at his Sterling, Virginia golf club. The course then lit up the sky with a fireworks show, which reflected on the Potomac River that runs through the fairway and through Washington, D.C. The president-elect’s wife Melania joined him.
As the fireworks exploded, the song “November Rain” by Guns N’ Roses played. Music has long been a part of Trump’s campaigns and rallies, with many of his classic theme songs to also be performed throughout the events leading up to his inauguration.
The swearing-in ceremony on Monday was moved inside the Capitol, greatly reducing the number of allowed attendees. This move comes as a winter storm is expected Sunday and after Trump survived two assassination attempts against him.
